I am a certified MentorCoach. Building new relationships, whether romantic or social, often becomes increasingly difficult as we get older. I look forward to helping you bring new relationships into your life!
I began coaching in 2006. To me, coaching seemed like the perfect next step, bringing together my two passions; teaching and helping others lead more fulfilling lives. Since then, I have coached individuals planning for retirement, graduate students, academic faculty, displaced auto and pharmaceutical workers and military spouses. My coaching practice presently focuses on working with trailing spouses. As a trailing spouse myself, I have a particular passion for supporting others in that sometimes very difficult situation.
Though I grew up in St. Luis, I lived much of my adult life in Ann Arbor Michigan. I hold a Ph.D. in Hispanic Cultural Studies from Michigan State University, and a master’s in counseling from Eastern Michigan University. I worked as Spanish language faculty for over fifteen years, teaching at institutions such as Indiana University, Michigan State University, Wayne State University, and the University of Michigan, and at the University of Michigan as a mental health counselor and an academic coach.
In 2012, my husband and I relocated to southern Illinois so that we could be closer to our families. We live there in a house on a lake with our very spoiled Maine Coon cat. In my free time, I love reading, travel, spending time with friends, and playing the guitar, the harp, and singing.
