MarthaStewartMatt Lauer of the Today Show interviewed Martha Stewart this last week. During a casual conversation Martha Stewart said that she wasn’t dating anyone at the moment, but that she really enjoyed dating and in fact was thinking of doing online dating. She said she had started to complete a profile and then didn’t know how to respond to some of the questions. She seemed eager to go back and try again.

Online dating for Seniors is different than online dating for 20 year olds. Seniors often are worried about compatibility with someone else. As a couples therapist for over 30 years, I can tell you that compatibility is extremely important. It’s the twenty year olds that don’t notice important aspects of compatibility and get taken with the here and now aspects of the relationship…good looks, picnics in the park, etc.

Hearing Martha Stewart’s interview, I got the sense that she knew what she wanted and wasn’t going to “settle” for anything less. She was also clear that she did like dating, and would want to have a man in her life.

Are you wanting to date? Or find a travel companion, or just a buddy? Some people recently are trying to find house sharing mates. Compatibility is certainly important there.

Think about yourself and what your preferences are. Online dating is a way to make your preferences known and to look for the qualities you are looking for in others. Join us at
