Are you alone for the Holidays? Do you plan on just trying to get through this season? Here are some tips designed to make the holidays a time to look forward to rather then something to survive.
Boomer Premier Dating principal Dr. Elaine Rodino has been quoted in a Woman’s Day article on being single for the holiday’s. The article lists several ideas on how to make the best of the Holiday season so that you have fun with this time of year rather than just trying to get through it.
“Don’t think about the holidays as something painful you have to ‘get through,’” says Elaine Rodino, PhD.
Some of the suggestions in the article include creating new traditions, going to parties that won’t make you feel uncomfortable, having your own party, making new friends and more.
If you do choose to go to parties, Dr. Rodino suggests “Plan ahead so you don’t get hit with an inquiry that makes you feel alone, abandoned or sad.”
Going out of town is another suggestion made in the article. Going to a fun place where you can look forward to the time away rather then being alone is a good way to approach the holiday season.
